The Daily Shocker for Wednesday, January 7th 2009

The dumbest thing she’s ever said.

This is Palin, today:
If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations,” Palin told host Chris Plante, “then I don’t know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear [...]

Scary reading for Halloween.

It’s Halloween, and in the spirit of the day, I’m posting a link to a Rolling Stone article from 2 years ago. It’s written by Robert Kennedy Jr., and it details just how the 2004 election was stolen. Yeah, that’s right. The 2004 election was stolen, and I don’t have any doubts about it. This is what keeps me up at night, and this is why I want margins of 5% or better in all these states. It’s also why I don’t think we can win Ohio unless we’re way ahead. The GOP Voter Fraud Machine is powerful. It’s my fear in Pennsylvania, too.

Obama’s ad, ratings, and my own thoughts.

Here it is, Obama’s 30 minute spot that aired on most major networks last night.

As for numbers, about 1 in 5 American households watched it. That is a lot.
I watched the Obama ad last night, and I was absolutely blown away. Some clarification: my professional background is in video editing. I’ve worked on pieces that [...]

Fox & Friends Chyron Morning Medley

I swear to God, these are back-to-back chyrons… I am not skipping a single one.. I even didn’t get to include a couple in the beginning that I couldn’t get on to the blog posting in time.
LATE FOR HIS DATES - Obama tardy to many senate hearings
JOE FIGHTS BACK - Speaks out about checks on [...]

No words.

There are no words to describe how I felt after what I just watched.
Unbelievable.

CNN Polls; good news to end the day with.

Lots of talk about the Daily Trackers, and the state polls lagging them today. Most of it centered around the big batch of state polls released that ended their run on Sunday, and not Tuesday. Luckily, CNN releases a batch of polls that do include Monday and Tuesday, and there’s really nothing but good news [...]

Gallup settles down.

RV: O51 M42 O +1 O -1 McCain from yesterday.
LV1 (expanded): O:51 M:44 no change.
LV2 (traditional): O49 M46 -1 M from yesterday.
So my hope was that Saturday was a big McCain day, and it rolled off. Sunday seemed good, too, but this is exactly what I wanted to see, today. One of the polls back [...]

From Obama’s mouth…

Today in North Carolina:
“I’m sorry to see my opponent sink so low. Lately, he’s called me a socialist for wanting to roll back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans so we can finally give tax relief to the middle class. By the end of the week, he’ll be accusing me of being a [...]

Some concern trolling is good for the soul.

OK, so the national polls are definitely tightening a bit. RealClearPolitics has the spread at +5.9 for Obama, down from a +6.7 yesterday. Pollster.com has it at +6 for Obama, down from +7 yesterday. Also, the Pew poll, at 53/38, is increasingly looking out of place, and it’s buffering those numbers some. I’d put the [...]

Is it just me…

Or does it feel like Obama is riding out the rest of the election, while McCain and Palin play it strong and finally have a consistent message to stand on?
Does this remind anyone else of the last weeks of the primaries, where Obama just kind of coasted while Clinton won big on Appalachia?
Anyone else a [...]
