No more polls. No more gaffes. No more McCain. No more Schmidtstorm. No more Davis. No more Palin. No more Palin. No more Palin. No more predictions. No more racebaiting. No more Ayers. No more Wright. No more socialism. No more lies. No more undecided voters. No more Bush. No more Cheney. No more center-right. [...]
Whenever you see the words College Republican, be suspicious. Their history is entangled in the greatest political scandal in our nation’s history, and the people responsible for those actions are still out there today. That this particular case of a College Republican has so many holes shouldn’t be surprising; it should simply be more cause of skepticsm. I’m not going to underestimate the dirty tricks the McCain campaign will pull to try to win this thing, and I definitely chalk this up as one of them.
Monday’s Zogby: 50 Obama / 44 McCain.
“Obama had a monster day by outpolling McCain by 10 points. In addition to strong support among Democrats, Hispanics, African Americans, and young voters, he has a huge lead among those who have already voted and those who have registered to vote just in the last six months. While [...]
I had just finished reading this thing, after seeing the headline at Drudge. I knew something was up because no one was covering it. Turns out, I was right, but 538 beat me to the story, so I’m just going to quote them instead.

If you’ll recall, I wrote Monday about the psychological effects of negative ads, and how they may not make an immediate impact, but they have a latent effect on the viewer. I wanted to see how the week played out in the polls, and to see if they were working. There is talk of a Bradley effect in the electorate, so my question is, is there a Bradley effect for responding to questions about negative ads? All the polls said that for most people, the negative ads don’t work, but I don’t think that reflects how negative ads work. They aren’t supposed to turn you off the candidate immediately; they’re designed to make you associate negative feelings with a particular candidate. So, how are they doing?
The Right is dying to start a comeback narrative. Drudge was doing all he could at the beginning of the week to start the narrative. Trouble is, the facts keep getting in the way. National polls ranging from +9 to +14 Obama, steady as a rock daily trackers, and news Obama is outspending McCain 3:1 has the ability to push the narrative a lot more than the delusional Drudge. But if they can get something going, the Right is sitting there with engines revved. Even the traditional media will play their part, because it’ll be a huge story.
Big mini-story overnight was Drudge trying to play up a McCain comeback based on daily tracking polls. Gallup had McCain at -7, after a -8, and quoted the report as saying “the race is tightening.” What’s Gallup got today, you may ask? Obama 51, McCain 41. A drop of 2 for McCain and a gain of 1 for Obama. The LV model II has Obama 53, McCain 43.
Drudgereport has a story linked about Obama’s door-to-door campaign in Ohio yesterday. Feel good story, right? Get out there and personally meet people you want voting for you.
Well, of all the pictures to use of the event, what does Drudge use?
See if you can spot the difference.
That’s right. A drudge pimped video produced by the McCain campaign for a specific messaging attack got outviewed by what? Unscripted, real news, of hate rallies for John McCain. This is the major failing of the McCain campaign, and the major triumph of the Democratic primaries.
