What a difference a week makes! This time seven days ago, I was a nervous wreck, so sure that any number of catastrophic potentialities would certainly occur to derail the Obama campaign. By Wednesday afternoon, simply looking at the cover of the pre-election New York Magazine, with Obama on the cover, and speculation of what [...]
Operation Leper.
RedState is pleased to announce it is engaging in a special project: Operation Leper.
We’re tracking down all the people from the McCain campaign now whispering smears against Governor Palin to Carl Cameron and others. Michelle Malkin has the details.
We intend to constantly remind the base about these people, monitor who they are working for, and, [...]

No more polls. No more gaffes. No more McCain. No more Schmidtstorm. No more Davis. No more Palin. No more Palin. No more Palin. No more predictions. No more racebaiting. No more Ayers. No more Wright. No more socialism. No more lies. No more undecided voters. No more Bush. No more Cheney. No more center-right. [...]
This is Palin, today:
If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations,” Palin told host Chris Plante, “then I don’t know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear [...]
OK, so the national polls are definitely tightening a bit. RealClearPolitics has the spread at +5.9 for Obama, down from a +6.7 yesterday. Pollster.com has it at +6 for Obama, down from +7 yesterday. Also, the Pew poll, at 53/38, is increasingly looking out of place, and it’s buffering those numbers some. I’d put the [...]
To celebrate today’s achievements in race-baiting psychopathy, we here at the Daily Shocker decided to make a commemorative button, that you can display proudly on your website. Or, print it out and hang it in your office, your room, your car, or anywhere else statements of ridicule find safe harbor. Anywhere you put it, it’s [...]
If the Republicans ever want to be taken seriously again, I suggest, at their next big convention, someone run a seminar on what it means to live in the age of the internet, with specific focus on YouTube and it’s ability to hoist you by your own petard.
John McCain, interviewed by Brian Williams tonight, was asked what “elitist” meant. His answer:
“I’ll be very frank with you. Who think that they can dictate what they believe to America rather than let Americans decide for themselves.”
You mean, like life beginning at conception? That belief? Or that gays shouldn’t be allowed to get married? That [...]
That’s where this story’s legs come from. It’s not just that it opens Palin to ridicule. It opens McCain to criticism and actual outrage from his own party, and furthers the fractious image of the GOP. On the surface it’s superficial, but really, it’s a symptom of the larger problem with the campaign. It’s wasted money, and it portends bad government.

We’ve been knocked here a few times for our site showing “McCain / Palin” ads—a problem we think we’ve solved—which got us wondering why they showed up here in the first place. Looking at our content, we realized we’ve evolved into an anti-McCain / Palin site, rather than a pro Obama site.
